N99m Fraud: EFCC Swoops Down On Federal Judge

- A serving federal judge has been accused by the EFCC of unlawful enrichment to the tune of N99,650,000

- Hyeladzira Nganjiwa, was on Friday, June 23, arraigned before Justice A.A. Akintoye of the Lagos State High Court, Igbosere 





- He denied the charges and the case was adjourned till October 6 and 10 for commencement of trial 

Hyeladzira Nganjiwa, a serving judge of the Federal High Court, was on Friday, June 23 arraigned before Justice A.A. Akintoye of the Lagos State High Court, Igbosere, by EFCC, for alleged unlawful enrichment to the tune of $260,000 and N8,650,000. 

The judge who is attached to the Bayelsa Division of the Federal High Court, was arraigned on a 14 count charge. 
His arraignment followed the dismissal of a preliminary objection he filed to challenge the jurisdiction of the court to try him. However, the prosecution said that despite being a serving judge, Mr Nganjiwa had no immunity from criminal prosecution.
